Racing and simulation: the best games in 32:9
The genre 32:9 was invented for: the cockpit, for real.
If there's one use case where 32:9 isn't a luxury but a genuine functional gain, this is it. In a car or aircraft cockpit, peripheral vision is part of driving: seeing the apex of a corner, watching a car dive up the inside, keeping a mirror in view. A 5120×1440 display replaces an entire triple-monitor setup on its own, without the bezels running through the image.
Most serious sims know it and offer dedicated settings: per-screen field of view, adjustable viewing angle, sometimes even multi-perspective rendering to avoid distortion at the edges.
Watch the performance cost, though: rendering at 5120×1440 means roughly 2.2 times more pixels than 2560×1440.

Stardew Valley 2016
Simulation 21:9 · Excellent 32:9 · ExcellentStardew Valley handles 5120x1440 natively with true Hor+ rendering: the fields, the village and the mining areas extend out to the sides without distortion, and the HUD stays well positioned, which earns the game a Gold rating from WSGF. A long-standing bug in version 1.5 prevented clicking on the right side of the screen beyond 4096 pixels wide, a problem the developers have since fixed and that should no longer affect current versions.
